New feature: Ask anonymous questions

Thursday, June 19th, 2008

Today we launched a new feature that enables you to ask questions without showing your nickname. Simply text the additional keyword “hide” in your twitter sms to hiogi like this:

d hiogi hide YOURQUESTION

Or you can change the default settings, so that all your questions are set to “anonymous”. If you have changed the default from “visible” to “anonymous” and you do want to text a question signed with your hiogi nickname include “show” as an additional keyword like this:

d hiogi show YOURQUESTION

The keywords HIDE or SHOW also work in front of a WAP question.

Of course you can leave everything as it is and keep on sending questions as you have done before. Just make sure your nickname ist not your real name, so that no one knows what you want to know from the hiogi community.

hiogi wins well-known eco Internet Award 2008

Wednesday, June 18th, 2008

hiogi wins eco internet award 2008Yesterday night Chris and I spent a fabulous evening on the eco Gala celebrating our eco Internet Award Mobile 2008. About 250 companies applied for this well-known award. The jury highlighted our modular, scalable and multilingual technology that enables any company to use hiogi as a white-label or partner solution. Also, it was mentioned that the internet is flooded by information and that it will be hard for mobile phone users to find relevant information in the future. The hiogi community compresses all this knowledge into 140 digits.

Check out the pics from yesterday.

hiogi donates 120 EUR to poor children in Leipzig

Monday, June 9th, 2008

hiogi is a project sponsor of betterplace.org and now donated another 120 EUR to a project in Leipzig after finishing one month of charity HELP SMS questions, where every German hiogi user would donate the margin of the 39 Cent SMS question to the 44044. The money will be used to purchase books and learning equipment for poor children of that region. hiogi already supported the betterplace foundation with a 500 EUR donation before.

More about the betterplace project.
