Dear hiogis,

the first year of hiogi is almost over and we are looking forward to an exciting 2009. We would like to say thank you for all of you “first-movers”, who trusted us and who joined our unique knowledge community! In 2009 we would like to grow hiogi also in the English-speaking world and look forward to many questions and answers from anyone out there. hiogi is special! hiogis help each other with advice and knowledge. We try to overcome the anonymous content of search engines and try to add a personal flavour to adhoc informations, which should be very useful while traveling. Please spread the word and help hiogi grow, so that many people enjoy having “a good friend” at the side all the time. We all benefit from new ways of getting in touch and exchanging tips and advice. One persons asks and many will help. How cool is that!?

Good morning hiogis,

we just launched our “hiogi for Skype“ solution. Now you can also ask any question by directly chatting with the hiogi community via the Skype account “hiogimessenger”. hiogi for Skype not only works on the Mac or PC but also on many mobile handsets, if you download the beta version of skype mobile.

Please follow these steps in order to start using hiogi for Skype:

1. Register for free and become a real hiogi
2. Log in on www.hiogi.com
3. Save your personal skype account on this page or in your settings: www.hiogi.com/skype
4. Wait until the hiogimessenger contacts you and add hiogi to your contact list.
5. Send your indivual activation code via skype to hiogi (provided on www.hiogi.com/skype)
6. Start asking question by writing ASK in front of your skype questions.
7. Get a list of all Skype functions by typing HELP into your hiogi skype chat window.

Dear hiogis from the US, UK or any other country around the world,

we received a few questions about our monthly prices and why they are mainly gift certificates for German stores or hotels… First reason: hiogi is a small start-up from Berlin, Germany and one of our investors over here was so kind to sponsor some prices, which we could not reject of course. Also, most of the hiogis so far came from Germany, but this will hopefully soon change…

So here is our promise: We will start looking for better monthly prices that are also useful for you guys across the atlantik or in Asia e.g.. Of course we will send you your prices anywhere you live!

But of course hiogi is not only about prices! Mainly it should be fun, entertaining and everybody should learn something. hiogis help each other and that makes this community so special.
